Editorial Policy

This page explains how content is created, reviewed, and maintained at Modern Home Inspo. If you find an error or have a correction, use the contact page.

Who Is Responsible for This Content

Modern Home Inspo is a one-person operation. All content is written and reviewed by Md Sharifuzzaman — a performance marketer with 13+ years in the home decor niche who studies interior design seriously as a subject area. There is currently no separate editorial team. Every article that is published has been read and approved by Sharif before going live.

Content Standards

Every article must meet three criteria before it is published:

  1. Specific — Every recommendation must name a specific element, material, measurement, or product. Vague aesthetic language ("add warmth and character") is not published without a concrete, actionable follow-through.
  2. Practical — Every recommendation must be applicable in a real home by a real person without unrealistic architecture or contractor-level structural changes.
  3. Honest — Every design term and historical claim must be grounded in real design vocabulary or cited from a credible source. Claims the author is not confident about are not published as fact.

Sourcing Policy

Historical and technical claims are sourced from credible references including:

  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art (metmuseum.org) — Rococo and Baroque history
  • The Victoria and Albert Museum (vam.ac.uk) — decorative arts and furniture history
  • UK regulatory bodies: IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), Building Regulations Part P, Planning Portal UK
  • Standards bodies: NKBA (kitchen layout standards), WELL Building Standard, BSI (BS EN slip resistance)
  • Certification bodies: GOTS, OEKO-TEX, FSC, AATCC
  • Academic and professional publications: Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, RHS, RIBA

Source links currently point to publication or institution homepages rather than specific articles or studies. This is a known limitation being addressed progressively — the underlying claims are drawn from content published by those institutions.

What This Site Does Not Claim

The author of this site is not a certified interior designer, a qualified architect, or a professional decorator. Content reflects serious study of interior design principles combined with deep knowledge of the home decor market — not a formal design qualification. Readers making significant renovation decisions should consult a qualified professional for structural, electrical, or planning matters.

Image Standards

This site does not use generic stock photography. Images are:

  • AI-generated hero images — created specifically for each article to illustrate the design concepts discussed. Not presented as photographs of real completed projects.
  • Original SVG diagrams — created for this site to illustrate layouts, proportions, material comparisons, and design principles.
  • Public-domain historical images — where used, sourced from CC0-verified collections (Met Open Access, Wikimedia Commons CC0).

All images include descriptive alt text. Images are used to teach or illustrate something — not as generic decoration.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, a broken source link, or an outdated recommendation, submit a correction via the contact page with the article URL and the specific issue. Corrections are reviewed and addressed as quickly as possible. The article's modification date is updated when substantive changes are made.

Affiliate Links

This site may include affiliate links to relevant products and services. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial recommendations — products are mentioned because they are relevant to the article content, not because of commercial relationships. Affiliate links are disclosed where present.

AI Tools

AI tools are used to assist with research, drafting, and image generation. All published content is reviewed by Md Sharifuzzaman for accuracy, specificity, and practical correctness before going live. AI-generated text is not published without human review and editing.
